Self Portrait

A self portrait for my Yahoo group. I sprayed glimmer
mists over a mask. Face was drawn with graphite and charcoal.
I added some punched flowers for the right eye.

  1. Hi Marilyn,
See you have all you Mac technology going- hooray!
I love this image. Can you explain what you mean by a mask? A mask on your face...?
I am in a white world this morning watching a cardinal on my bird feeder. A snowstorm has canceled school so I get to stay home and make art!
Can't think of a better day! Except to be in sunny California..... :)

  2. Sharon, a mask is the opposite of a stencil -- it's the part that would be cut from the stencil. You place it on the surface and paint or spray over it. The swirly area over the face is a Tim Holtz mask.
