I'm pretending it's fall, but it's really more like Indian summer…..hot enough to sizzle the best of us.
Here goes though. I have been dabbling with Topaz's latest addition - Topaz Impression.
This image of white pumpkins was edited in Impression "Impasto".
I'm so delighted I don't need to buy Corel Paint (which I've been sort of lusting for after seeing the incredible work Karen Burns does. I drool over her art. I know she used Corel Paint at one time. Whatever she uses, she's very adept at it.
Another Impasto "painting".
Have you noticed how many different colors and styles of pumpkins appear every year? They just get more and more spectacular……even the blue are interesting. Oh, and the warty ones..beautiful in all their quirkiness.
Enjoy the season with friends. Also be sure to see all the Texture Tuesday entries at Kim's. I used her "Autumn Burst" on the image below.
and finally, a montage.
These are just wonderful I have used Topaz before but didn't like it but I sure do like what you have done. Such a great painterly feel to all of these. I live in AZ and I think you are hotter than we are right now. I also lived in CA for 38 years Bay Area and always remembered those few hot days we would have at this time of year. Hope those ocean breezes come in soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, I like her Autumn Burst too. Used it alot at one time. And it transformed those pumpkins into something totally different.
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed with your use of Topaz!!
ReplyDeleteLovely pumpkins, and lovely edits! I agree that the variety of pumpkins gets wilder and wilder each year - they're such fun to look at.
ReplyDeleteLove your edits! I love Karen Burns work also and have lusted over getting Corel Paint Shop but not ready to make the investment! You are also inspiring me to give a go at learning Lightroom again! I have kim's lightroom class but my head starts to swim when it comes to organizing all my photos! Love your work!
ReplyDeletea beautiful collection of pumpkin art here! i love the painting technique!
ReplyDeleteSeems like you get better and better?
ReplyDeleteI love the painterly quality ...
and the lovely colors!
Great work Marilyn!
I don't think I have seen the texture Topaz. All I can think of right now is snatching pumpkin so I can make pie...
ReplyDeleteI think we had our Indian Summer last weekend with temps in the high 80F range. Now it's settled back down to more Autumn weather. I love the texture and composition on the Gratitude pumpkin shot. Truly lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Marilyn! It was so nice to hear from you! And you look wonderful in your new profile photo! It's still very warm here too and in the upper 80's which is fine by me because we had a cold spell last week-end that came in from nowhere and it was quite the shock. I guess we just weren't prepared for it. Anyway, I am loving the pumpkins and I agree with you on how many different ones they are coming out with. I just love them too, and I thought I actually saw a pastel turquoise one on someone's blog a few days ago. I;d love to find one of those1
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely as always!
