Big Sack - back

I finally finished the "Big Sack" from Traci Bautista's new book. I actually blame her for my purchase of a sewing machine. After taking a class from her and watching her make her freeform flowers, I just had to get one. So, it's fair to say I've only been using a machine for a few months. Fortunately, I have a friend who is an excellent seamstress who has helped me with this project. I'm really quite proud of it. This pic and the one below show front and back and then following pic is the inside pocket. TaDa!!!!

Big Sack - Inside Pocket

I actually decided to line the bag (though Traci did not go into details in her book about that). And at the last minute I found this remnant in the fabric store to use for a pocket.

A friend throws pottery. and this was a gift to me. I think it is beautiful in its zen-like simplicity. I have had it over 30 years. I don't really like a lot of knick knacks, but this holds a place of prominence along with the ruby cut-glass vase in my bookcase.

Mike challenged me to draw his gargoyle "Dido". It was also my father's birthday. So I dedicated my art for the day to his memory. I love you, Dad.

One Minute Sketches

I'm starting to do one minute sketches -- when I don't have the time. I know I have to make the time, but some days are just a little crazy. I figure I can at least do a couple minutes.....simply a matter of discipline.
