Faster Than a Speeding Bullet

This was challenging for my limited skills. I need a template for circles or I need lots of practice. But overall I'm happy with it. I love the juxtaposition of modern technology with organic. The wheels do look a bit stone age though.

Eyes Have It

I think I've lost my Muse. I thought since J's passing, I would want to immerse myself in my art. It's just the opposite. I don't seem to have the interest. I have promised myself I would draw, collage or paint every day. Alas, I'm just not into it. I hope it's temporary, because I have enough stuff in my studio to start my own store. I think I will just set aside some small bit of time each day even if it's to stare at the paper and put a mark on it. I did this really quick sketch not paying attention to values or proportions - just to get something on paper.

Grace & Lotus

Lotus has gained weight. She loves to lie in the "cockroach" position. She is our most recent greyhound rescue. She follows Grace, the whippet, everywhere, as if Grace is the big sister.

Colored Pencil Doodle

I used watercolor pencils and Prismacolor colored pencils here.

Face of fear

This was a lot of fun to do. The website "Artatomy" is good for someone like me who is challenged drawing faces and bodies. There are so many expressions, I'm like a kid in the candy store. It's also very educational if one does not know each and every facial muscle. More than anything I need to see the proportions and relationships of, for example, ears and eyes. If you are interested in exploring this website the URL is http://www.artnatomia.net/uk/index.html.

SB

After seeing Danny's video clip of portrait drawing, I tried this one upside down. There isn't a lot of detail as the photo was altered digitally before it was published. It appealed to me because of its simplicity and graphic look.

Morning Tea

I've told myself I will draw something every day if only a quick sketch. So many choices, not enough time..... It's like the gym - one has to program the time for it.

Apple & Bananas

Some of my favorite fruit - mundane though they may be. This was done with Micron pen, Derwent watercolor pencils and then Prismacolor pencils over. It is amazing just how many colors there are in the fruit.
