stamp carvings

These are my first two attempts at carving my own stamps. The first one was done on a white plastic eraser. The second was carved on a Speedball carving block. It took some time and patience, particularly on the second carving, as it is so intricate. Neither is as clean as I would like, but I'm happy with my first images. They are fine for journal art and collage. Thank you "greylady" for encouraging me to "just do it". My granddaughter helped me get started on the second one. It was a little daunting to me with all the little corners and turns. It's so much fun to try new techniques.

Wow, Marilyn, good for you. I've toyed with the idea, but I have never tried it. You did good, kid!

I love carving erasers and Speedball blocks. I have amassed quite a collection of my own little designs. I should try to remember to use them more often when I set up journal pages.

You did a great job on your first two. My first attempts were really horrid, but it got easier as I practiced. :)
