It's interesting to see works that have been done over a long period of time melded together into a quilt.

Shiloh and Callie

These are torn paper collages of two dogs that belong to a good friend. I had a lot of fun and got really sticky, gooey fingers from all the gel medium. I was not sure quite how to do the black dog, but when I looked closely at his photo, I could see the gradations of color. Are they just the cutest dogs???

Stained Tissue Collage

I covered up some of the red and put a few finishing touches on. I like this a lot better. It was too large to scan, so I propped it on the floor to take photo. Unfortunately, it makes the focal point collage look crooked. Now back to staining and decorating tissue paper -- I need to work with my natural papers too. I used 13 x 17 mat board. For the tissue paper, I used white tissue and diluted fluid acrylics. Also used black gesso on front and back of one tissue and then added metallic acrylic. Stamped some tissue paper. Also stained some Japanese paper. Adhered all with matte medium. I then adhered decorative papers and the central collage. Voila! More detailed instruction can be seen on instructional DVD called Watermedia Collage Workshop by Carrie Burns-Brown. You can rent it through Smartflix here http://smartflix.com/ or purchase from Creative Catalyst Productions here http://www.ccpvideos.com/page/CCP/CTGY/ARTCB

Unfinished Collage

Only the second stage here - after staining tissue papers and covering the mat board, I added a couple decorated papers and my 5 x 5 collage as the focus. I'm trying to decide what I want to do with all the red -- way too much! Oh well, it must have been one of those red days.

Birthday Present

My birthday present from Mike. It takes up the whole wall here, and I like that because it looks like it is in a red frame. If you look really close you can see a penguin in the zebra's face.

Lazy Dogs

This is the morning naptime after walk and breakfast. Ollie is the cutest black/white whippet, faster than lightning and a real jumper which gets him in trouble, such as when he jumped over the fence into our neighbor's yard. I guess he wanted to socialize with the neighbor's dog. Lotus is a small greyhound - white with brown ticking. She is very sweet -- protects Ollie like she is his mom. They are both rescues and wonderful additions to our lives.

Cravings

If you're a card player, you might crave this hand. If you're a chocoholic, this deep dark chocolate bar is dreamy marvelous. I'm neither. Give me a lemon bar anytime over chocolate. My DH is the chocoholic. I love the face and hair on this woman - wild and sensual! This is layers of acrylic, magazine images, decorative papers and text and gel pen.
