North Pole God

For Photo Art Friday I started with four images and then layered with textures.  The final edits are shown here

The original images are shown here

I used Pixel Dust Photo's "chinks of light" and "tangled tendrils", various blend modes and filters to achieve the different looks.  The abstract results are so fun because they look nothing like the original images.  I like the various plays of color depending on textures used and blend modes.
Here's a sample of my workspace.
Have a great week and stop by to see the other works here.

Marilyn, I always just "love" your work, so rich and full of beautiful color and texture. Thanks so much always for sharing your process. Like the little pixels that difference may have brought out - saw it a few times in my trials, but didn't work with the image at the time. Works fantastically with this. Have a great day. Karen

powerful pieces and I like the canvas diemensions as a change from square. The first one is my favourite with the mysterious shadows

Very interesting. You chose an unusual combo of photos to work with but the results were fun. I like the first one the best.

who woulda thunk it? Your texturized photos are wonderful. I especially like the first edit - very dramatic. I love the way the flower stalks come through.

My fave is the middle one but the best part of them is the cool way the waves in the water image translate into the abstracts. In the upper right corner it makes a little highlight that is so intriguing in all the versions. Great mix of images.
