Faces

More face practice, but I spent a little more time and drew rather than sketched. It's fun to start with the prominent features and then draw the head shape around them. I have always started with the head and then "inserted" the features. These I did from pictures in a magazine. I had more time.

Hi Marilyn;

I haven't yet been brave enough to draw faces so I know next to nothing about techniques, etc. I was very interested to read you had used two opposite approaches to beginning your drawings. I think naturally I'd be inclined to start with the shape of the face / head and then add the features. You say it's easier the other way. Hmm... very interesting. I love the results, too. Very nice job!

I definitely think that it is best to start with the features and work your way out. I don't know about you, but I tend to start with either an eye or nose. Nice job with these.
