Just for Fun

It's been a crazy busy week as I'm sure it has been for all of you.
For Texture Tuesday, I picked an image I have worked with and posted previously.  This time I used Kim's "Dusty Rose" texture and edited for that soft look.

Then I took a turn and decided to have some fun with it.  If you haven't tried Pixlr.com, it's loaded with little fun effects.  I use Pixlr Express since I do most of my editing in PS.  I used Pixlr's "smashed" effect here.
The geometrical shapes give it a really different look.  I'm always looking for ways to add a twist to an edit.
Enjoy the week and stop in to see more Texture Tuesday.

Wow, I love what you did with the shapes! That would make a great book cover!

Hi...fun to see your posting for TT. I appreciate the reminder about Pixlr....I had totally forgotten about it. The Smash effect is so fun...also great idea to re-post photos with different effects. Really fun offerings today. Your website looks beautiful, just super cool. A few weeks ago I moved to a black background, not sure how content I am with it. It is rather like rearranging furniture...just trying different backgrounds, fonts, etc.....only to do it over. Crazy Daisy. Hope your hot dry spell is coming to an end. We have had a total change in temperature and are now wearing sweaters !!!!

The title of your post speaks volumes about what art and photography should be - fun! I love that you took an image and edited two different ways - creating two very different looks. That smash effect is very dramatic. A beautifully composed picture the tells more than one story - bravo!

Beautiful. That texture is very pretty. I like the broken glass effect on the second one too.

I love the beautiful rose and texture of your first image. I have never tried Pixlr. It made quite a unique effect, I need to look into that one.

Your first image is great, but the faceted image is really great. Looks like you had fun in creating it.
